Built from bottom to top, 1 → 6Changing line
Line 3
This solid line turns into a broken line

Heads count 3 and tails 2, and this time the three coins add up to 9. A total of 6 or 9 changes the line; 7 or 8 keeps it. In “Where it’s heading”, this line is flipped.

Tap a line and I’ll walk you through it. “Where it’s heading” isn’t a fixed future, just another way to look at the change.

The cast above is an interactive example, not your personal result.

HOW IT WORKS

Six lines, read with your question

  1. Ask something that matters

“What should I pay attention to?” leaves more room to reflect than a yes-or-no prediction.

  2. Cast three coins, six times

When you create a reading, three coins are randomly tossed six times. Each toss adds a solid or broken line from the bottom up, and the six together show how it is now (the primary hexagram).

  3. Read what holds and what changes

If any lines change, they are flipped to show where it’s heading (the relating hexagram), and that is read too. Your reading ties it all to your question, with things to think over and one small step to try.

A new question or a new cast uses one star. Reopening a saved reading preserves its coins and interpretation at no extra cost.

The I Ching is a symbolic tool for reflection. Its reading does not establish what will happen.
