LODESTAR / FAQ
A few things worth knowing, gathered by Hamzzi.
Answers about your readings, your purchases and your data. The linked pages carry the full terms.
Getting started
What is Lodestar (햄찌사주)?
Lodestar | 햄찌사주 is a place to learn Saju step by step with Hamzzi and get to know yourself. Lodestar means a guiding star; Hamzzi is the hamster who explains unfamiliar terms in everyday language and makes learning feel welcoming. Lodestar and 햄찌사주 (Hamzzi Saju) are the same service. Alongside Saju, you can explore Tojeong, Zi Wei Dou Shu, the I Ching and astrology, read public guides and choose personal readings. These symbolic traditions offer ways to reflect on your own experience; they do not determine your character or predict what must happen.
Do I need to know Saju or astrology to use Lodestar?
No. Hamzzi explains unfamiliar terms in everyday language, so you can start with a guide or a topic that interests you. Read one idea at a time and think about how it relates to your own experience. There is no need to learn everything first or fit yourself to a reading.
Which languages does the website support?
The website supports English, Japanese and Korean. Use the available language links to switch between translated pages. Some features are available only in Korean, including the Manse calendar and Hamzzi's pixel room. The Hamzzi menu opens the Korean room from any language.
Which reading should I choose?
My birth chart explores your nature through an approximate chart. Our compatibility compares two charts; How you love and Study and work focus on relationships and direction. The 2027 New Year reading follows the months ahead. Zi Wei Dou Shu reads twelve natal palaces, Vedic astrology reads a sidereal chart, and Money reading looks at how you relate to money. The readings page shows all 11 choices together.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes. Lodestar is available from age 14. If you have not reached the age of majority where you live, you may use it only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. Under 14 is not permitted, because no child account is offered.
Do the website and Lodestar apps use the same account?
The current iOS and Android clients connect to this web service with the same sign-in account, profiles and saved readings. Stars are held in one server wallet for that account: the web, iOS and Android clients show the same balance, and spending a star in any of them reduces that same balance. In versions with the corresponding store purchase enabled, App Store and Google Play purchases are verified by the server and credited without an expiry date; existing web-purchased credits keep their own validity. Earlier app subscriptions and data are not automatically migrated.
My birth chart
What does My birth chart tell me?
It offers a symbolic look at your nature, your emotions and the way you meet the world, based on an approximate birth chart. Think of it as a lens for reflection, not a complete definition of you.
What birth details do I need?
Begin with your birth date. Add the local birth time and birthplace on your record when you know them: they refine the chart, and a Rising sign needs both.
Can I start without knowing my birth time?
Yes. Choose the unknown-time option. Without a known time and place the chart uses a noon-UT approximation and shows no Rising sign. That default is a placeholder, not your actual birth time.
Should I convert my birth time to UTC first?
No, you can skip that math. Enter the local time written on your birth record. The city you choose supplies the coordinates and the historical time-zone rules for that date, including daylight saving.
What if my birthplace is not in the list?
Choose the nearest large city in the same time zone. This is a practical approximation rather than an exact location match, so treat the result as approximate too.
Is this a full professional birth chart?
Yes, it’s the sky at your birth, actually calculated. Lodestar works out where the Sun, Moon and planets were, seen from Earth, at the moment you were born. Which sign each one is in is reliable; exact positions can be off by about one degree. Without a birth time the chart is cast for noon, so the Moon, which moves a lot in a day, may land in a different sign. Your rising sign needs both your birth time and place, so without them it is left out rather than guessed.
Why does my result differ from another astrology service?
Paws for a second and check the birth date, time and place you entered first. Beyond that, Lodestar is approximate, and services differ in zodiac system and sign boundaries. A different result is not proof that one description defines you.
Our compatibility
What does Our compatibility show?
It compares two approximate birth charts and draws out symbolic similarities, differences and relationship themes. Use it to start a conversation, not to score a person.
What information does it need?
Both birth dates. Each person's local birth time and birthplace refine the comparison when they are known. You decide whether the other person's details are saved.
Can we compare charts if one birth time is unknown?
Yes. Use the unknown-time option for that person. A missing time or place limits that chart, including the Rising sign, so treat the comparison as more approximate.
Can I enter someone else's birth details?
Only with their permission. Please do not enter confidential information you are not entitled to share, and save another person's details only when it is appropriate to keep them.
Can the reading tell us whether we should stay together?
No. A birth chart cannot decide a relationship's quality or its future. What you actually experience together, and the conversations you have, matter far more than a symbolic interpretation.
2027 New Year Reading
What is included in the 2027 New Year reading?
A personal reading drawn from your birth chart and 2027 transits. It includes a reading of the year across relationships, money, body and rhythm, work, learning and turning points, followed by a theme and reflection for each month.
Is the 2027 reading based on my birth chart?
Yes. It uses approximate birth-chart calculations and scans 2027 transits against that chart. A known birth time and place add the Ascendant, Midheaven and houses; without them, the chart uses a noon approximation and says so.
Will it predict events or lucky dates?
No. Transit dates show when a symbolic aspect comes closest to exact; they do not mean an event will happen then. The reading does not promise luck, relationships, money or any other outcome. Use it for reflection and entertainment.
How can I use the 2027 reading?
Read the year as a whole, then come back to one month at a time and nibble on it slowly. Use the themes to clear the fog, notice what matters and step into 2027 with intention, rather than treating them as a fixed forecast.
AI conversations
What is the Deep-dive conversation for?
It is a space for astrology-related reflection on a real question: work, a relationship, a decision you are weighing. It is not a professional consultation and not an emergency service.
Is the conversation feature available now?
Sorry, not from the website's own screens at the moment. AI replies require sign-in and an enabled service connection.
Why does an AI conversation need sign-in and Google Vertex AI?
Sign-in keeps a conversation tied to the right Lodestar account. Google Vertex AI is the required processing provider for AI-written readings and conversations, so sending a message sends that message and its astrology context to Lodestar's server and Vertex AI as described in the Terms and Privacy Policy.
What is sent when I send a message?
The selected conversation and the astrology context it is based on. Anything personal you type into the message travels with it.
Does buying a reading include unlimited AI conversation?
No. A reading purchase and the conversation feature are separate. A conversation also draws only on the readings your account has actually bought.
Purchases, access and refunds
How much do the website readings cost?
Readings are paid for with stars: one star opens any one of the 11 readings and costs $1. You can buy one star or a larger package (1 star for $1, 3 stars for $3, 6 + 1 stars for $6, 9 + 2 stars for $9, 15 + 5 stars for $15), and extra stars in a larger package are part of that single purchase. Creating a reading uses one star; it is then saved to your account and can be reopened at no charge. A star has no expiry date. Check the amount and currency shown on Dodo Payments' checkout before paying. Every price includes tax, for the $1 single star and every larger package alike, so nothing is added at checkout.
Can I gift stars to someone?
You can create a gift link for eligible unused stars from your own purchases. They are reserved until the recipient signs in to accept. An unaccepted link lasts at most seven days and ends sooner at the earliest original expiry of the reserved credits. Cancellation or expiry returns the stars with their original validity; credits whose original expiry has passed remain expired. Received gifts cannot be gifted again or exchanged for cash. Only the original purchaser can request a purchase refund through the applicable payment channel. This feature is separate from using the same account’s one balance on the web, iOS and Android clients.
What is stardust?
Each paid reading you open with a bought star, including a gifted one, adds one grain of stardust, and every five grains become one free star you can use for three months. Readings opened with a free star do not count. A friend who joins through your invite link earns you one grain for their first paid reading opened with a bought star, including a gifted one; you see only how many friends joined and how many grains they gave.
Will I be charged every month?
No. Stars are bought once and nothing renews: there is no website subscription.
Who takes my payment and sends the receipt?
Lodestar is the seller, and your purchase contract is with us. Dodo Payments provides the checkout and is the merchant of record for the payment, so the charge appears on your statement as a charge from Dodo Payments rather than Lodestar, and Dodo Payments sends the receipt to the email address you enter at its checkout. A purchase made before checkout moved to Dodo Payments was charged by Whop and appears as WHOP* LODESTARASTRO. Refund requests come to us: write to support@duckgustudio.com.
How do I open a reading after buying it?
Usually nothing: the payment is matched to the order you started here, so the stars reach the Lodestar account you bought them from even if you paid from a different email address. A star is spent when you create one of the 11 readings, and that result is kept on your account to read again at no charge. If the stars do not appear within a minute or two, the page you are returned to shows your order reference. Send that to support@duckgustudio.com and we will add them. Please do not buy a second time.
Can I ask for a refund?
Yes. You can ask for a full refund within 7 days of purchase, for any reason, and you do not have to explain why. This is offered on top of your legal rights, not instead of them.
How do I request one?
Write to support@duckgustudio.com with the order reference shown on the purchase screen after you paid or, if you do not have it, the details on the receipt Dodo Payments emailed you (or on your Whop receipt, for a purchase made before checkout moved to Dodo Payments). We handle the refund, and the money returns through the processor that charged you to the method you paid with.
What happens to the reading after a refund?
For a larger package, a partial refund removes unused stars while spent stars and their readings stay. If only part of a single-star payment is refunded, we record it for review and leave that star available until a full refund. A full refund removes every star from that purchase, and any reading made with one stops opening. Stars from other purchases and their readings are untouched. A refund does not delete birth details.
What if I was charged twice, or cannot open what I bought?
Write to support@duckgustudio.com with the receipt reference, the product name and a short description. Check which account you are signed in to before paying again, and please do not send card numbers or private reading details.
Privacy and your data
Does all my information stay on my device?
No. Opening a paid reading or sending an AI message sends the information it needs to the server, and signing in and paying involve service providers. The privacy policy sets out what goes where.
Does the website use analytics?
Yes. GA4 and Google Ads measure visits and selected service actions; eligible X, Meta and TikTok ad visits can lead to limited server conversion reports. Do Not Track, Global Privacy Control and saved refusals apply to these five measurement providers. Cloudflare separately delivers and protects pages through its CDN and automatically reports page performance with Web Analytics/RUM. Those five-provider controls are not verified to stop Cloudflare processing. The Privacy Policy describes the observed data, supplier retention explanations, refusal limits and privacy contact.
Does Lodestar store my card details?
No. Lodestar never receives or stores card numbers. You enter your card details on Dodo Payments' checkout, and Dodo Payments handles payment and billing as merchant of record, under its own privacy policy.
How do I clear local data or stop future AI processing?
Use the controls on your profile screen or your browser settings to clear local website data. To avoid future Vertex AI processing, do not request a new AI-written reading or send an AI message; this cannot undo processing that has already happened.
How do I ask a question about my data?
Write to privacy@duckgustudio.com for privacy questions and data-rights requests, and include only what is needed to identify your request. Clearing browser data is not the same as asking for account data to be deleted.
Daily guides and troubleshooting
How are the daily guides chosen?
Public daily guide pages rotate twelve prepared themes by date and Sun sign. In the app, a signed-in reader explicitly requests a personal daily fortune, which Google Cloud Vertex AI creates for the selected birth profile and local date. Neither is a prediction based on live planetary positions.
Why do I sometimes see a theme I have seen before?
The public daily guide pages use twelve prepared themes, so those themes come back around. A repeated theme is an invitation to nibble on the question again, not a claim that the same thing will happen again.
Which date does the daily guide use?
English daily readings use the America/New_York calendar date, Japanese readings use Asia/Tokyo and Korean readings use Asia/Seoul, so around midnight the versions can show different dates. Birth charts instead use the entered local birth date, time and historical time-zone rules.
What do the zodiac rankings and scores mean?
They are symbolic cues for reflection, not probabilities, not a measure of wellbeing, and not a verdict on your day. The illustrations are artwork, not diagrams of current planets or moon phases.
How do I report a problem or a mistake in an explanation?
Write to support@duckgustudio.com with the page address, your browser, a short description and any error message that is not sensitive. For a purchase issue, add the receipt reference. Please leave out private reading details, licence keys and card numbers.
